Μαύρο χιούμορ και άγρια κριτική. Ο ωραίος τρομοκράτης σαν απειλή κι ερωτική φαντασίωση. Η πραγματικότητα σαν προϊόν. Το συναίσθημα παραμορφωμένο μέσα στο λαμπερό εμπόριο του θεάματος. Οι εικόνες που επαναλαμβάνονται τόσες φορές και σε τόσα μέσα, που δεν διακρίνεται πια το πραγματικό από τη μυθοπλασία. Το Ισλάμ και η Δύση, ο φόβος κι ο εθνικισμός, το σεξ και η βία, όλα ανακατεμένα σε ένα προκλητικό, ακραίο κι επιθετικό έργο ανάμεσα στη φρίκη, τη διαστροφή και την ανοησία. Μια ιστορία για την παθιασμένη ανάγκη του ανθρώπου να πιστέψει κάπου, σε κάτι, σε κάποιον.
Ο Βρετανός συγγραφέας Mark Ravenhill, γεννημένος το 1966, είναι ένας από τους πιο επιτυχημένους της γενιάς του και εκπρόσωπος του περίφημου κινήματος του «in-yer-face» theatre. Στην Ελλάδα έχουν παρουσιαστεί πολλά έργα του, ήδη από το Shopping and Fucking το 1997. Το Προϊόν παρουσιάστηκε πρώτη φορά στο Fringe Festival του Εδιμβούργου το 2005, με τον ίδιο το συγγραφέα στο ρόλο του παραγωγού.

Set in a time where Western society is so bombarded by media's endless repetitions that it is no longer able to distinguish fact from fiction, Product addresses horror, perversion and stupidity with brilliant, provocative ease. Throwing together such volatile components as Islam and the West, fear and nationalism, sex and violence, Ravenhill's piece is sharply funny, aggressive and extreme. A play about people’s overwhelming desire to believe in something, in someone – in anything.
Born in England in 1966, Mark Ravenhill, is one of the most successful playwrights of his generation and forerunner of the «in-yer-face» school of theatre. Many of his plays have already been staged in Greece, starting with Shopping and Fucking in 1997. Product premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2005, with the writer himself playing the main role.
